ABA International Miami Meeting – Recap
The ABA International Law Section Meeting happened in Miami last week and it was a great success. We appreciate the hard work it takes to put on a conference of this sort and the staff of the ABA always does an amazing job. Dzuba Law was proud to have shareholder Peter Dzuba not only attend the conference, but speak on the opening panel of the entire conference.
The opening panel was met with a full room of attendees who were eager for the start of an amazing conference, and also eager to learn about the practice of international law. These attendees were treated with a great panel of top international lawyers, including Joe Raia of Gunster and Steven Richman of Clark Hill (also the President of the International Law Section of the ABA). Each of the panelists provided their insights into the practice, as well as their unique advice. Peter was not only the youngest person on the panel, but also the only person who had ventured out on his own and started his own practice.
Peter provided inspiration to the members in the audience who were of the more entrepreneurial persuasion, and who also wanted to one day started their owns practices. Whereas the other panelists focused on ways of gaining experience in the area, Peter focused on how to get clients in order to then get the desired experience. Whereas the other attorneys spoke about getting a mentor, Peter spoke about delivering work under the often tremendous uncertainty that faces an international lawyer.
Based on the feedback that Peter received following the event, it seems like his unique perspective not only stood out, but was greatly appreciated by the certain type of attorney who is more aligned with the values that Peter reflects. It was a privilege for Peter to serve on the panel with these great lawyers, and Peter hopes to have the opportunity to do it again at some point in the future.
